Remember Free Rice? There’s a sister site!
Although, I personally like FreeRice better since my vocab is better than my haphazard knowledge of geography/world civilizations/history, which dates back to high school.
Oh, jeez…high school.

Before I had a seemingly insurmountable fear of graduating…what did I plan on doing? Did I even want to do what I thought I wanted to do?! It’s enough to drive a gal crazy with self-doubt. Self-confidence took many a direct hit.
Now I can’t wait to graduate (well, I can, but you know what I mean). Now, instead of the unknown future scaring me shitless, I’m actually looking forward to it. There’s still a lot left I need to do before, but instead of feeling lost at sea…I have a sense of direction to guide me, no matter how unpredictable things may get.
So. Come on, and give me your best shot.
I’ve been cutting expenses since the summer. So far, so good.
(well, if you discount the $100 mini shopping spree back in September last year)
Since the new year, I’ve only had one impulse buy (color pens for note-taking for kid sis) and have only treated myself occasionally to dinner at Gillie’s (rationalization: healthy food!)
I’m saving up for an impulse buy I have a feeling is going to come in March for a new pair of jeans.
But now, not even halfway thru Feb., I’m plagued with a book-buying impulse.
Hopefully, I can find some copies at the library to temper this a lil’.
Must. Resist. Amazon.com.
Well worth the wait. Bill Clinton is a great amazing speaker!
And now, I’m totally wiped.
Sleep first. Work will have to wait until tomorrow.
;)
[2:32 AM: night before, after being cooked delicious dinner, cheesecake with cognac chocolate fudge, scrabble/upwords/egyptian ratscrew and wine festivities]
Original Plan 1: get up at a relatively decent hour (10 AM?), start work, eat in, work, shower, gillie’s bday dinner for Vy, work til bed.
[12:38 PM: slept in]
Plan 1a: sleep in, work, eat in, work, shower, gillie’s, see juno at the Lyric with the trio and company.
Plan 1b: sleep in, work, eat in, work, shower, gillie’s (no juno).
[2 PM: Vy feels sick from the flu going around and takes raincheck]
Plan B (no, not the pill): sleep in, eat in, shower, get work done in Wallace Hall Atrium, dinner on-campus, work til bed.
[2:45 PM: Realization that Bill Clinton is coming to speak at VT]
4 PM - New Last Minute Plan: shower, go early to get spot, see/hear Clinton speak.
First: with Vy (get some gillie’s to go?)
Second: with Vy and Kath
Third: with Kath.
Hah! Love how “getting work done” has totally taken the backseat…
Tonight, I’ve fallen in love with Alan Luo aka Luo Zhi Xiang aka Xiao Zhu.
Yes, I’m behind the times. I just discovered him randomly very recently (because I was feeling Wang Lee Hom nostalgic and was watching his old MVs on youtube).
And I seriously laughed non-stop at all the youtube vids of him, damn how adorable can you get? He has a great voice (the song playing in the background is actually one of his songs), contagious charm, and a killer sense of humor.
Oh, and did I mention he can dance? Like really dance. Like MJ dance (shown in another vid).
What is Love - Haddaway
Happy Birthday, Vy! I dedicate the Trio’s Roadtrip Anthem to you, love.
I am reading:
5 books for class (4 are textbooks, 1 is a novel-text)
1 book, another recommendation borrowed from Kath
1 book, off of the 1001 list
1 book, purely my own choice
I used to refuse to start reading a new book until I finished the current one. Excluding textbooks, I usually get through 2 books in a week and a half, finishing them at roughly the same time. I’m starting to wonder if a person can over-read herself by reading one too many books simultaneously…
Oh, well.
